ANI, AGI, and ASI (Artificial Narrow/General/Super Intelligence)

A categorization of the developmental levels of artificial intelligence based on capabilities and scope: ANI (Artificial Narrow Intelligence): This is the current technological level, where AI delivers superhuman performance in a single, specific task (e.g., chess, translation, image recognition) but lacks general cognitive flexibility. AGI (Artificial General Intelligence): A hypothetical future level where the machine can perform any intellectual task a human can, including learning, adaptation, and the application of transfer knowledge across different domains. ASI (Artificial Superintelligence): The theoretical state where machine intelligence far surpasses the brightest human minds in every respect — creativity, wisdom, problem-solving. Defining these concepts helps situate current developments on the map of technological evolution.
