On the path of development.
SERCO Informatics, with its four-decade history, is one of the oldest companies in Hungary, which has been linked to the field of information technology since its inception.
Since the 1980s, there has been a massive transformation in the IT world. However, throughout this period, SERCO Informatics has consistently possessed the competencies that have allowed it not only to adapt to the changing circumstances but also to gain a competitive advantage.
What are these foundations that still define the company today? Business stability, high level of professional knowledge, the retention of partners' trust, and an internal drive for continuous improvement.
Foundation
The year of establishment, a time when eight-bit personal computers like the Commodore 64 or ZX Spectrum were barely a year old; when the ARPANET officially transitioned to the use of internet protocol (heralding the birth of the internet), the final installment of the Star Wars trilogy, Return of the Jedi, was releasing in American cinemas, and in Hungary, the rock opera István, a király (Stephen, the King) became an overwhelming success. SERCO Informatics was established to service TPA computers and components developed in the Central Physical Research Institute, and thanks to quality workmanship, the company quickly began to grow.
Profile Expansion
The last decade of the twentieth century found us in fervent profile expansion and dynamic growth. A breakthrough came in 1996 with the arrival of Fujitsu in Hungary, for which SERCO Informatics became the first certified reseller partner. By then, the workforce had increased exponentially, and we had introduced a quality assurance system.
With a great past into the future
From the 2000s, we also became an increasingly important player in the public procurement market. Thanks in part to this, we moved to a modern office in Óbuda in 2005, which, thanks to the developments and conversions carried out on the property, has since provided an environment that meets the standards of modern workplaces of the 21st century.
