Prompt Engineering

Prompt engineering is the technical discipline and methodology aimed at designing, optimizing, and fine-tuning input instructions (prompts) given to generative artificial intelligence models (mainly LLMs). The process involves the structured formulation of appropriate context, syntax, constraints, and examples (shots) to enable the model to produce the most accurate, relevant, and qualitatively appropriate output. Applying prompt engineering increases the reliability of AI systems and reduces the risk of hallucinations — the generation of false information — ensuring the effective business and professional use of the technology. This activity serves a bridging function between human intent and machine execution, becoming an essential skill in modern AI-based workflows.
