Deepfake

Deepfake is a term derived from the combination of 'deep learning' and 'fake.' It denotes synthetic media content (video, audio, image) that has been manipulated by artificial intelligence to appear real. The technology can place real people's faces or voices into other contexts, or authentically depict events or statements that never occurred. Although its creative application (e.g., film industry, education) can be beneficial, deepfakes carry significant security and disinformation risks, undermining trust in digital evidence — creating new challenges in the field of identity protection.
